Aveda After Shave Balmoverview_header
Aveda is a worldwide company with concepts salons and schools scattered about the globe.  Founded in 1978 by Horst Rechelbacher, The company is committed to providing high performing plant-based products and uses only renewable, sustainable or organic ingredients in their products.

Aveda was purchased by the Estee Lauder company in 1997 and since then, all sales have doubled. Unfortunately for us, the men's line has been reduced to 3 products; shave cream, after shave balm and Pure-Fume.

Editor's Note: Aveda seriously upgraded their men's line to include shampoo, conditioner, and pomades.

I bought this product one day on a lark whilst walking home from Sansbury. A beautiful vixen caught my eye in the window of my local Aveda salon and I ended up with an empty wallet, and a bag full of all things Aveda.

The first thing you will notice about this product is the earthy Aveda scent. (A left-over fragrance from the Horst days. I love it!) The product is mild to the touch, and to my face. If you're into anticeptic artificial scents typical of most off-the-shelf shave products like Edge or Fusion, don't buy Aveda. I'm sure they work for most blokes; I cannot tolerate them.

The pump is easy to use, and the product goes on clean, and finishes light. Aloe, Camomile, Coconut-derived glycerin, Lavender, Vitamin A, Vitamin E help protect, moisturize and soothe your face after a harsh day's shave, especially during the dry winter months. Go easy with it or you'll be left with a residue. Even though its alcohol free keep it away from your eyes. It will burn.

As with all premium products from Aveda, its pricey. Use it sparingly and it should last you at least four month. Its not hard to find an Aveda salon near your flat, but you won't find it at you local Boots pharmacy. Look for it online at www.aveda.com

This is solid product from a solid company. It's plant based, so it's easy on your face. I've got sensitive skin, and I experienced no irritation whatsoever.  Luckily I've got an Aveda salon two blocks from my flat!
