Washington D.C.’s The Grooming Lounge is a full service shaving lounge and shave store in our nation’s capital. Aside from selling shave services and other company’s products, they have developed a few choice shaving products for the everyday battle for our beards. The Beard Destroyer shave cream is billed as an “ultra-lubricating formula that enables a smooth shave every time. Developed in our D.C. Barbershop, this low-foaming solution is perfect for all beard types, but is especially adept at protecting those prone to razor bumps, irritation and nicks.” It comes in a 6.8oz. tube in very classic blues and tans.

I loved the Beard Destroyer shave cream by the Grooming Lounge! I have always been more of a traditionalist, using pre-shave oils, shaving soaps, after-shave balms, and using a badger brush. I was slightly skeptical about putting down the brush and just using my fingers. I am happy to say my fears were unfounded. The shave cream’s tube fit well in my hand and had a large lid to flip. The cream was white and easily squeezed out. There was no scent to the product. It applied well to my face and gave a little bit of lather as I rubbed it in. The excess shave cream easily washed off my hands [always a big plus!] My Mach 3 blade easily glided across my face while shaving. There were no tough spots, no dry areas and no clogging! It worked perfectly on a few days of growth on my cro-magnon face. When I was finished, the excess shaving cream easily washed off my smooth face.

I loved shaving with this product! At $18 a tube, it is definitely on the more affordable side of top-shelf shave creams. It applied well, shaved perfectly, and cleanly washed off afterwards.
