L'Occitane Cade Shaving Cremeoverview_header
L'Occitane was founded by Olivier Baussan in the Provence region of France. Armed with an old steam distiller and some wild rosemary Mr. Baussan created some of the finest products in the world.

From these humble beginnings, L"Occitane first introduced CADE for men shaving line in 2003

Cade / Juniper - A thorny bush with long, dark needles and walnut-sized, brown-black berries. The essential oil is obtained from the berries by steam distillation.

First, lets discuss the product itself, then we’ll get to the fabulous shave bowl. L’Occitane Cade Shaving Soap’s primary ingredient is derived or extracted from the juniper bush. What’s unique about L’Occitane, is they actually manufacture or source the extract themselves. Big deal, so what right? We’ll its relatively easy to make your own soap with ingredients others produce, but to know and understand where these ingredients are grown and how they’re produced means total control over the quality of the soap. For us that equals an unbeatable shave from and unbeatable shave soap.

L’Occitane’s Cade Shave Soap provided me with a robust, rich lather, a pleasant but not overpowering scent, and a clean smooth post shave rinse. In addition to Cade, the shave soap also includes shea butter, and macadamia nut oil for razor glide and moisturizers.

Editor’s Note: If you’ve ever traveled in France, and visited the southern region of Provence, Juniper, and Lavender are abundant. The climate, people and habitat are idyllic for all things skin. EVERY road side pottery stand sells L’Occitane or another locally produced skin product.

If you’re an old school lather boy, this soap is well worth the trip to France, your local L’Occitane retail outlet, or their new website to purchase. You’ll love this stuff!

The Bowl:
The aluminum bowl comes with a cover imprinted with the L’Occitane logo. It’s very impressive.  It looks nice on the sink. A shave accessory your wife or lover will allow you to display.  My wife was mystified by the bowl. “Hey hon what’s this change dish doing in my bathroom”?

You decide you don’t like the soap, you can store your change in the dish on your dresser.  It’s a beautiful piece..

Not a piece for the shower. It takes up too much precious shelf space. Then again ALL shave soaps do..

I would give this product a five out of five stars.  Great soap, great dish, great value..
